Former Grizzlies head coach Jeremy Bachusz has been named head coach of the South Oregon Spartans of the WSHL.
Bachusz spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Oakland and won the 2007 ACHA DI National Championship. He also took the Grizzlies to the 2012 ACHA DI National Championship game as head coach. He took over as head coach prior to the 2009-2010 season and remained at that post until he stepped down earlier this spring.
Bachusz finished his Oakland career with a record of 96-56-13 with a 58% winning percentage.
“Our goals for the season are to be a highly competitive, disciplined team focused on competing towards a national championship.” Bachusz told the Spartans official site.
“The staff will be working hard this off season to recruit quality athletes both on and off the ice that want to work hard to improve as a player and for the team. We want players in our locker room that love the game of hockey and ultimately want to move on to higher levels of play including NCAA and the ACHA.” Bachusz added
The Spartans ownership group stated on the teams official site; “Coach Bachusz will meet and exceed the standard of Spartans Hockey! We feel fortunate to have him leading our program.”
